2022 was a banner year for Rainier Squadron and FB605. The mighty Stinson Reliant returned to the air show circuit after a long absence and began to fly passengers again to help promote the CAF mission of Educate - Inspire - Honor. The reception from the public has been tremendous, we often ended up running out of time to accommodate all the rides people wanted to purchase.

Now it's time for the Reliant to shed the last of her executive interior and return to something more military oriented. We have plans to remove the old and deteriorating corduroy side panels and replace with olive drab, military spec fabric. The rear bulkhead needs some minor repairs and a repaint with proper stenciling. A few of our instruments are starting to show their age and are in need of overhaul or replacement. Lastly, the engine needs a number of new gaskets for the valve covers, pushrod tubes and some other areas where we still have some oil leakage.

Each year the CAF holds an annual fundraiser to help support and highlight aircraft projects for planes in need of restoration, maintenance or repairs. Donors may contribute to a specific aircraft project or to the CAF’s Restoration Grant Fund.
